FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 12, 2018

PALM SPRINGS, CA, MARCH 9, 2018: Native Workplace, Inc. and Grow Hemp Colorado have formed a strategic alliance to help Native artisans and businesses connect with the hemp industry. This philanthropic partnership creates a Tribal Hemp Marketplace on Hempslist.com for tribal members to promote their art, products and services at no cost.
“Native Workplace is continually working to educate our community on cannabis and introduce viable opportunities” said Cristala Mussato-Allen, Executive Director of Native Workplace. “The partnership with GHC is a great step in helping tribal members create income.”
HempsList.com is similar to Craigslist but for Hemp. The effort is to encourage tribal members in the traditional arts to work with hemp. “There is a market for rugs woven from hemp, hemp canvas tipis, hemp clothing, hemp foods, jewelry and artwork.” Said Cristala. “This is a way for tribal members to have a small business with hemp today.”
Tribal members working from home place ads and are responsible for all interactions with their customers. Native owned businesses operating in the hemp and medical cannabis industries are welcome to promote on the site, however no sales of medical cannabis products are allowed.
Veronica Carpio, of Grow Hemp Colorado stated that “tribes and tribal members should have equal opportunity in the hemp industry, GHC is very pleased to be part of an effort to stimulate income for tribal members and we have more tribal projects planned for the future.”
Native Workplace Inc. is a Native operated non-profit created in 2000 with the objective to generate job opportunities in Indian country by fostering economic and workforce development. They currently offer hemp and cannabis community education and project planning.
